Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 1, 2025

Your privacy is our priority. This policy explains exactly how HomeNest Pro handles your data.

Summary: We collect your contact info to match you with home service providers. We never sell your data to third parties without your explicit consent. Your information is used solely to connect you with qualified professionals through the Homerenote / HomeNest Pro platform.

1. Information We Collect

HomeNest Pro ("we," "us," or "our") collects information you provide directly when using our platform at Homerenote. This includes personal identification information such as your name, email address, phone number, and home address when you submit a quote request or create an account.

We also collect information about your home improvement needs — including the type of service you're requesting, the scope of work, your budget range, and your preferred timeline. This project-specific data allows us to match you with the most relevant service providers in your area.

In addition, we automatically collect certain technical data when you visit our website, including:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, time on site, and referring URLs
  • Clickstream data and interaction logs

If you choose to communicate with us via phone or email, we may retain records of those communications to improve our service quality and resolve disputes.

2. How We Use Your Information

The primary purpose of collecting your information is to connect you with pre-screened home service providers who match your specific project needs. When you submit a quote request on HomeNest Pro, your contact and project information is shared with up to four (4) relevant service providers so they can reach out with competitive quotes.

Beyond provider matching, we use your information to: personalize your experience on the Homerenote platform; send you relevant tips, project guides, and service recommendations via email (with your consent); analyze platform usage patterns to improve our services; comply with legal obligations; and prevent fraud or misuse of our platform.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects without your knowledge and consent.

3. Information Sharing

HomeNest Pro shares your information with service providers in our vetted network specifically for the purpose of fulfilling your quote request. These providers agree to our data use policies and may only use your information to respond to your specific request. We do not permit them to use your data for independent marketing purposes without separate consent from you.

We may also share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our platform — including analytics services, email delivery providers, and customer support tools. These partners process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect your information.

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to data brokers or unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of HomeNest Pro, our users, or the public.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on our site if such a change occurs.

4. Data Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. HomeNest Pro employs industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, and access controls that restrict data access to authorized personnel only.

Our systems undergo regular security audits and penetration testing. We maintain a dedicated security team that monitors our infrastructure for suspicious activity and responds promptly to potential threats.

While we implement robust safeguards, no system is completely immune to security risks. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Homerenote account and to contact us immediately at security@homernote.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

5. Cookies & Tracking

HomeNest Pro uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our platform. Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help us remember your preferences, maintain your session, and understand how you interact with our website.

We use the following types of cookies: Essential Cookies — required for the platform to function properly; Analytics Cookies — used to understand traffic patterns and user behavior (e.g., Google Analytics); Marketing Cookies — used to deliver relevant advertisements and track campaign effectiveness; and Preference Cookies — used to remember your settings and personalize your experience.

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences or via our Cookie Preference Center accessible in the footer of every Homerenote page. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our platform. We also honor Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals where technically feasible.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your data, the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

EU/EEA and UK residents have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR, including the right of access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to certain processing activities.

To exercise any of these rights, please submit a request through our Privacy Request Portal or contact us directly at privacy@homernote.com. We will respond to all verified requests within 30 days (or 45 days where permitted). You may also unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time via the link in any email or through our Unsubscribe Page.

7. Children's Privacy

HomeNest Pro's services are intended for adults aged 18 years and older. Our platform is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions).

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without appropriate parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our systems. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@homernote.com so we can address the situation promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

HomeNest Pro reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or platform features. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending an email notification or displaying a prominent notice on the Homerenote website.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. Your continued use of our platform following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree with any updates, you should discontinue use of our services and request deletion of your data.
